An Adverb is a word that modifies the meanings of a verb, an adjective or another adverb. Simple Adverbs are of different kinds. They are Adverbs of Place, of Manner, of Frequency, of Degree of Time, of Reason. Interrogative Adverbs are also of time, place, number, manner quantity and reason.

Identify the Adverbs and state their kind.

  1. Anil looked for Vinit everywhere. (Answers the question where so its Adverb of Place)
  2. Sabir managed the whole situation skillfully. ( Answers the question how or in what manner so it is Adverb of Manner)
  3. I always finish my work before playing. ( Answers the question of how often something happens, so it is Adverb of Frequency)
  4. She likes dancing a lot. ( Answers the question how much something is done, so it is Adverb of Degree)
  5. They never turned up. ( Answers the question when, so it is Adverb of Time.)
  6. When will you go to school? ( They are used to ask questions about Time, place, number manner, quantity, and reason, hence it is an Interrogative Adverb .)
  7. He worked hard to qualify for the admission. ( Adverb of Manner)
  8. All the people rushed down. ( Adverb od Place)
  9. The pigeon wanted to go inside. (Adverb of Place)
  10. I pay yearly for the maintenance of my house. ( Adverb od Time)
  11. Henry should have run faster. ( Adverb of Manner)
