Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

So said William Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. Naming things is irrelevant! Or is it? They say the person matters, not his name! Oh but don’t our names stick with us for all of our lives. They’re personal, telling people about our families, heritage and most of all how we represent it.

Our names start reflecting our personality. We identify ourselves with our names. Maybe a person named ‘Dough’ became a chef! Or a Dr Paws..you guessed it! A doc treating furry animals 🤩 How about a Skywalker…an astronaut?

So we either become our names or they make us become them 😅

My name Varnika means a person who is pure , a compassionate person, pure as gold! In Sanskrit it is the name of Goddess Saraswati, who is the Goddess of knowledge.

I carry kindness with me like the gentle breeze wherever I go.

I hope to be a beacon of light, illuminating the path of the lives I touch. My job as a teacher enables me to do that. I am grateful each day for my lovely name and to my parents who thought of this name for me.

  1. Your reflection on the significance of your name, Varnika, is both poetic and profound. The way you tie in the famous quote from Shakespeare and then pivot to how names can indeed shape or reflect our identities is thought-provoking. Your name, meaning pure and compassionate, and its connection to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, is deeply symbolic, especially considering your profession as a teacher.

The imagery of carrying kindness like a gentle breeze and being a beacon of light for others beautifully encapsulates the essence of your name and your personal mission. It’s clear that you don’t just see your name as a label, but as a reflection of your inner self and your aspirations. Your gratitude towards your parents for choosing such a meaningful name speaks volumes about your appreciation for heritage and personal legacy. Keep inspiring others with your insights and the positive impact you make as an educator!
